The Energy Efficiency Housing Pilot Project
Energy Efficiency Housing Pilot project started in 1996. Project implementing agency - Central Projekct Management Agency (www.cpma.lt). Housing Agency via Advisory Centers provides technical administration of this project.
The project aims at supporting private initiatives in improving housing maintenance and investing in energy efficiency measures. During the implementation of the project:
- energy efficiency measures were implemented in multi-apartment buildings using technically and economically attractive energy packages
- private energy consultants' services on housing renovation issues were developed
- a system of assistance, provided through the Advisory Centers of Housing Advisory Agency to costumers - multi-apartment building owners preparing and implementing projects was developed.
More than 1.100 Homeowners associations participated in the project;
More than 650 investment proposals were prepared;
More than 580 loan agreement were signed;
More than 500 Homeowners associations implemented renovation projects with investments exceeding LTL 60 million in the framework of the Energy Efficiency Housing Pilot project.
data on 100 multi-apartment buildings after renovation have been collected by the specialist of Housing Advisory Agency.
Major results of Energy Efficiency Housing Pilot project:
- average comfort adjusted savings of 24%;
- average simple payback period for 100 monitored buildings amounted to 10,5 year;
- more tha 60% out of 250 surveyed households indicated that loan repayment represents an insignificant or negligible burden on their families budgets.
